Exhibition Description :
In the summer of 2021, the Magnetic Fields Project and the Leaving lí Gallery collaborated with five artists and emerging creative groups to develop an art exhibition in a protected building that looked at the hybrid reconstruction of urban memory and fragments of consciousness. The exhibition presented the debut and reinterpretation of several works, exploring the infinite possibilities of artistic creativity.
The exhibition is inspired by the multiple interactions between living organisms and their environment as proposed by Henri Bergson in The Evolution of Creation at the beginning of the 20th century. The five participating artists express their extension and creation of urban memory and fragments of their own consciousness through unique fragmented textures and ideologies. The works range in style from Hao Fangyuan's ink paintings based on oriental ideas to Dasy's philosophical reflections on transient scenes, from Qiu Lianqi's exploration of “ecological texture” in the digital world to Wang Jiacheng's abstract reproduction of Shanghai's urban life and Wang Xiaoshuang's understanding of the colorful reconstruction of the city's architectural landscapes.
In the space of the heritage-protected building, the works of art echo each other, stimulating the audience's imagination of creativity. At the same time, young art emerging creative groups will also start their creative power art journey of reinventing color here.
